Supply

Ferrum Coatings is the Australian source for the rail-cooling coating product. We manage the full supply chain — procurement, quality assurance, storage and site delivery — so that product availability is never the constraint on a project. Supply can be arranged as a standalone engagement for clients with their own application capability, or as part of a fully managed service.

Application

Our trained crews apply the coating using purpose-built application machinery during night possessions, delivering continuous linear coverage across defined track sections. The application process is designed to integrate with existing rail possession and protection arrangements, and is conducted in accordance with the client's rail safety management system. We manage all logistics, crew deployment and site coordination.

Maintenance Programs

Coating performance is maintained through scheduled inspection and recoating programs tailored to the operating environment and traffic loading of each track section. We provide condition reporting aligned to client maintenance management systems, with recoating works planned and executed to minimise possession requirements. Ongoing maintenance programs are available on a fixed-term or as-needed basis.

Trials and Site Assessments

For operators evaluating the coating for the first time, Ferrum Coatings offers structured site assessments and trial programs. A site assessment identifies candidate track sections based on solar exposure, operational impact and maintenance history. Trial programs are scoped to provide a controlled basis for evaluating coating performance under the client's specific operating conditions, with outcomes documented for internal review and decision-making.
