Our Purpose

Ferrum Coatings was established to address a specific and persistent problem in Australian rail operations: the effect of extreme solar heat on continuous welded rail.

We exist to give Australian rail operators — heavy-haul and passenger alike — a practical, proven means of managing rail temperature under solar load. Our focus is narrow and deliberate: supply the right product, apply it correctly, and maintain it over the asset lifecycle.

We operate as a complete service provider. That means we bring the coating, the application machinery, the trained crews and the ongoing maintenance programs. Clients engage us for an outcome, not a product alone.

Antony Amara is the Managing Director of Ferrum Coatings and the driving force behind bringing this technology to the Australian market.

With a background spanning rail operations, infrastructure services and project delivery in Western Australia, Antony identified the gap between the scale of the heat problem facing Australian rail and the absence of a dedicated, specialist solution.

He established Ferrum Coatings to close that gap — building the supply chain, application capability and operational framework required to deliver the service at the standard Australian rail operators require.
